About this Internet-Drafts & RFC Search
There are two types of Internet documents indexed here: Internet-Drafts and Request for Comments (RFCs).- RFCs are the official document series of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), and are archived permanently (i.e., they are never deleted, and once an RFC is published, it will never change); however, it is important to note that not all RFCs are standards.
- Internet-Drafts have absolutely no formal status. They are valid for a maximum of six months and may be updated, replaced, or obsoleted by other documents at any time. Very often, Internet-Drafts are precursors to RFCs.
